Payroll to join ConnectionPoint, March 29, 2017

Effective April 4, the university’s payroll department will be transitioning to ConnectionPoint. We are happy to be able to integrate this team, and their expertise with payroll services and support, to our ConnectionPoint administrative service offerings. This transition helps to provide a more holistic, enhanced service for our university community.

This transition has been several months in the making, and has involved extensive collaboration between Financial Services and ConnectionPoint to ensure this change in reporting structure does not impact the ability of our payroll team to provide this essential service offering to our university community.

Beginning April 4, please contact ConnectionPoint for all your payroll related questions and requests, and our payroll team will be happy to assist you. For those who pick up manually printed cheques, these will be available for pick up at ConnectionPoint in Arts Building, room 258 beginning April 4. ConnectionPoint is open from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.

ConnectionPoint leadership team announcement, July 27, 2016

The service design and delivery team has been hard at work the past few months finalizing details for the launch of ConnectionPoint in late August. This work includes the development of online tools, facilities planning, and posting and hiring positions to support the launch of ConnectionPoint.

In July, Troy Linsley, Jae-Anne Peace and Rachel Heidecker were the successful applicants named to the ConnectionPoint leadership team. Over 60 individuals applied for the director positions, and the service design and delivery team is happy to have Troy, Jae-Anne and Rachel on board.

Troy comes to the team from the College of Arts and Science. Troy, as director of ConnectionPoint services, will support the service team that is the first point of contact for faculty, staff and students when reaching out to ConnectionPoint.

Jae-Anne will make the move from Financial Services to ConnectionPoint as director of ConnectionPoint operations. In this role, Jae-Anne and her team will ensure specialized support requests that come into ConnectionPoint are responded to in a timely manner.

Rachel, director of ConnectionPoint support, will officially join the team in August as the director of ConnectionPoint support. Rachel comes to ConnectionPoint from Information and Communications Technology. Rachel and her team will monitor the quality and efficiency of ConnectionPoint services to ensure services continue to evolve and improve.

ConnectionPoint is expected to launch in late August, initially providing assistance with travel and expenses, and administrative support for researchers. Additional finance, research and human resources services will be added later this fall. Continue to watch for the latest updates and send your questions to

ConnectionPoint adds finance and human resources services, December 7, 2016

Beginning this week, ConnectionPoint staff are available to support enhanced and new finance and human resources administrative services for the university community, including support for:

  • purchasing and payments (including: vendor sourcing, vendor contract review and development, request for quotations, purchase order requisitions, purchase order receiving and invoice processing);
  • human resources/workforce administration services (including: staff recruitment, onboarding, off boarding, benefits and leaves); and
  • data processing services (e.g., journal vouchers and electronic job submissions).

In addition, several new articles and commonly used forms have been added to Knowledge Base. Knowledge Base, used like Google, is a self-serve tool in the PAWS ConnectionPoint channel that allows you to search for information on university guidelines, processes and policies.
